There are laptops, there are tablets. And then there are hybrids that do not discriminate.
PC maker Dell has revealed 3 new devices in the 2-in-1 category in India that look like a normal laptops, until you flip their screens over. A 2-in-1 is a hybrid device wherein the display can be detached or flipped all the way to the back for leisurely times. Dell stated that about 6-7% of its consumers feel a 2-in-1 is the way to go.
The three new models from the Inspiron category, mutated into a 2-in1 are meant for a versatile usage. Their screen can flip over doing a 360 to become a tablet or mid-way to keep a table or a tent mode. Given the weight of smallest and the cutest Inspiron 11 3000, it is difficult to use them as a hand-held device though. With a 500GB hard drive, the 11 inch, 6th Gen Intel Core M3 based Inspiron 11 weighs about 1.5Kg.
The Inspiron 5000 is a different story. Apart from some new features trickling in from higher end series, like a backlit spill resistant keyboard and a big touchpad, the machines use 6th gen core i7 processors and have 8GB DDR4 RAM. Both the Inspiron 13 5000 and the15.6 inch Inspiron 15 5000 have Full HD touch screens that can be flipped over. They weigh about 1.6 and 2.08kg respectively.
All three Inspiron devices come preloaded with Windows 10 and while the bigger two are fitted with infrared cameras for facial recognition. Windows Helio facial recognition let’s you log in by just looking at the laptop.
The Inspiron 11 3000 will be available starting Rs 32,690 and the Inspiron 13 5000 starting Rs 49,490.
