A smaller, lighter and more powerful convertible is today’s dream device. While many companies are trying to get there, most find it hard to keep a balance between size, processing juice and form.
Build in a 0.58-inch-thick metal finish chassis, Lenovo’s new Yoga 710 manages to pack a 6th Gen Core i7 processor and a dedicated graphics card from NVIDIA. That is like a decent workstation in just 1.55Kg, the all SSD 256GB storage helps. For the display, it has a 14-inch touchscreen that rotate 360°.
Lenovo India Marketing Director Bhaskar Choudhuri says the YOGA 710 comes with just the right specs and form factor that caters to new-gen mobile workers and travel enthusiasts who need work, recreation, and social connectivity on-the-go, and with minimal connectivity hassles.
To boost connectivity, the laptop has an antenna build into the hinge (that connects the display with the rest of the part). When using in the tablet/tent mode, this is the most exposed area of a laptop. Moreover, the hinge has a wide surface area – more the area, better is the signal reception that is. Lenovo says its ups the Wi-Fi connection’s signal strength by 20% which would help improve connection reliability.
While its display has a Full HD resolution, the speakers are a down firing pair placed on both edges of the laptop powered by Dolby Audio Premium to create a virtual surround. The said battery backup is of Yoga 710 is 8 hours, while the charging port uses a pin based charger.
The laptop has no heat vents on the bottom face or side edge, all transferred to the back edge between the two hinges.
Lenovo is launching the device with a mouse that doubles up as a remote control for presentations, media control.
