Micromax A116 Canvas HD Introduced at Rs. 13,990

After successfully launching the Canvas A100 and Canvas 2 A110 in the 5-inch smartphone segment, Micromax has introduced another kid in this block dubbed as Micromax A116 Canvas HD which is priced around Rs. 13,990.

Canvas HD comes with MediaTek’s MT6589 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The 5-inch HD IPS display gives a resolution of 1280×720 and 16.7 million depth of color.

This one from Micromax comes with an 8 MP camera at the back with 4X zoom capabilities as well as a VGA at the front. It comes with 1GB RAM and a 4 GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

Commenting on the launch and association with MediaTek, Deepak Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer, Micromax said, “At Micromax, we constantly strive to innovate and develop great technological experiences for our consumers. Today’s launch marks our association with MediaTek to bring forth our first quad core phone in this segment, offering consumers a great user experience with latest features and added functionality.”

Mr. Mehrotra further added, “We are excited with the success of Canvas 2, which has clearly established Micromax as number one player in the new 5-inch phablet category in India. We are looking forward to similar success with the new phone being unveiled today.”

Micromax A116 Canvas HD will be available for sale at a price of Rs. 13,990 in the month of February 2013.
