While most of the smartphone brands are waiting for CES 2017, Samsung has already announced its new line-up of A-series smartphones. The company which incurred a major loss to both reputation and revenues due to the Note 7 smartphone, launched Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones ahead of CES 2017. The devices offer regular form factors however, are IP68 water and dust resistant. They come with Reverse charging, USB Type-C port and an expandable storage of Upto- 256GB via micro-SD card. Apart from this, the display of all the smartphones this time is AMOLED and remains On always that means the time and date will always be visible on the lock screen.
The latest A series smartphones will be available in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud with a 3D glass back and metal frame design.
The South Korean giant also mentioned that its latest series of smartphones will feature a better camera performance with a more intuitive user interface and better low light photography. A new “Food mode” has been added to the rear camera for customized food photography. Also, the selfie camera on the smartphones is improved according to Samsung.
The smartphones also come with fingerprint sensor on home key and include Samsung Pay for easier payments via both NFC (Near Field Communication) and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). The users can also use Samsung Cloud and Secure Folder. And because of the USB Type-C port, the smartphones will have fast charging and reverse charging feature as well.
All the latest A-series smartphones feature Full HD super AMOLED display and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. All are Dual Sim smartphones and support 4G LTE Cat6.
Talking about the specifications, the smallest of all, the Galaxy A3 comes with a 4.7-inch HD super AMOLED display and measures 135.4 x 66.2 x 7.9 mm in dimensions. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Octa-Core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The rear camera on the A3 is a 13MP Optic with an Aperture of f/1.9 and the 8MP front shooter also comes with the same f/1.9 Aperture. It houses a 2,350mAh battery and supports Dual SIM. For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C and NFC. The smartphone includes Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint Scanner, Barometer sensors.
Galaxy A5 measures 146.1 x 71.4 x 7.9 mm in dimensions. The smartphone comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 6.0.16 Marshmallow. The smartphone is powered by a 1.9GHz Octa- Core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. On the optics side, the A5 features 16MP rear and 16MP front camera. The smartphone houses a slightly larger 3000mAh battery and is a Dual SIM device. For connectivity the smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C port, and NFC. The Galaxy A5 includes Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall Fingerprint scanner, and Barometer sensors.
The biggest of all Galaxy A7 comes with a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and runs Android 6.0.16 Marshmallow. It is powered by a 1.9GHz Octa-Core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes with 32GB of internal storage. It features a 16MP front and 16MP rear camera with an Aperture of f/1.9. It packs a battery of 3600mAh and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v 4.2, ANT+, USB Type-C port, and NFC (UICC, eSE). The device includes Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall, Fingerprint scanner, and Barometer sensors.
Samsung has launched its latest A-series smartphones in India a couple of months back and we don’t see the chance that the company will announce the devices so soon. The smartphones are launched in Russia for now and will be available in Global market soon.
