Nikon Coolpix P7100- a near perfect shooting experience

Nikon P7100 is a high fashioned camera launched by Nikon. It has a highly attractive design with 48 x 116.3mm dimensions and 76.9mm height. Also it’s a light weight camera as its 395g in weight. Nikon coolpix P7100 brings competition to other camera producing companies but it is not better than canon powershot G12 which is even lighter than this one.

Moving towards its display, it has a 3 inches LCD display with a resolution of 921,000 dots and TFT-LCD with anti-reflection coating. Unlike the other brands Nikon coolpixP7100 has a bright and appealing display with full picture clarity along with rare viewing as well as optical viewfinder. Images can be captured for any point or angle along with full coverage of the picture a no cropping is required. This feature of Nikon coolpixP7100 takes it to another dimension.

Another feature in this camera is its sensors.  It has a 10.1 MP 1/1.7 inches CCD Sensor. Its lens has a focal length of 6.0-42.6mm and f/2.8-5.6 which is good but does not make it better than other camera’s which have a better focal length. Nikon coolpixP7100 has a 7x zoom which covers a wide range and the picturing quality is also good.  Comparing its zoom quality with the other camera in the market we get to know that Nikon coolpixP7100 has the longest zoom. This is one of the best features of this camera.

Nikon coolpixp7100 has a auto, coupled electronic shutter with 1/4000-60s and 1/4000-8s shutter speed and its ISO sensitivity is Auto(auto gain ISO 100-800); Fixed range auto(ISO100-200, 100-400) and its highest ISO sensitivity is 12800.  It does not have any complicated controlling system. It has a standard dial and a rear control wheel which allows it to adjust all the settings. It also has a slot for attaching an external device like flash and microphones. It supports a Li-Ion battery EN-EL 14 which gives approximately 350 shots. It also has an internal memory of 94MB which is expandable. It also provides slots for SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory card and it comes in an attractive price of 30,000 INR.

The P7100 is an amazing piece of technology that will leave you dazzled entirely. It has entirely different settings that will keep you busy and occupied in making good stuff. The shutter can be held down and the shots can be rattled for up to a time of 30 seconds. But while actual experiment it can take up to one minute to clear the buffer and transfer the pictures on to the Class 6 memory card. In this process some other functions stay inactive. This can prove to be a little disappointing for the user as there will be a wait time to have the process complete.

The ISO sensitivity if very high will allow you to get some shots clicked in the dim light. This is a matter of fact that if the ISO level is 1600 then it will be of some help in the dim areas. The noise cancellation in images is good with the ISO 1600 as specified earlier. The video recording comes in at 720p24 resolution in the QuickTime format. The camera supports the 24p frame rate and if this would support the 30p HD recording then there would not be any other consideration for the camera. The overall quality of the camera is good as it retains the sharp details and there are zoom facilities while recording in.

The camera allows you to connect via the HDMI port to the TV and via the USB to a computer.
