Available for the price of Rs. 3599, Nokia Asha 205 is an affordable QWERTY mobile phone from the brand. Though the phone comes with prowess to lure the mid-income consumers, but the big question is; will Asha 205 prove to be a better choice for the socially connected consumers, when there are more feature rich mobile phones available in the market?
Design & Feel
Available with the dimensions of 112.8 x 61.1 x 13mm, Nokia Asha 205 looks quite sleek in build structure. The device measures around 94 grams, making the handset light and pocketable. Asha 205 comes with rubberized QWERTY and the rest of the body made using premium grade material.
The front comes with a 2.4 inches TFT screen, a QWERTY keypad and includes D-Pad along with six buttons at the bottom of the display. Further, the left spine of the phone comes with slot for SIM2 while the right side houses nothing.
A 3.5mm audio jack has been placed at the top along with the charging port. And the rear panel houses a VGA camera, with no front camera at the front. USB port seems to be missing from the device. The other SIM slot is placed under the hood along with the battery. Overall, build quality feels quite solid and gives a premium finishing.
Hardware & Performance
The latest mobile phone from Nokia comes with decent hardware configurations. It operates on dual-SIMs (GSM+GSM), of which one is hot-swappable. Further, Asha 205 is provided with internal storage of 64MB, which can be though upgraded up to 32GB via microSD card.
Nokia Asha 205 is powered using Li-Ion 1020mAh battery (BL-5C), the handset offers 700 hours stand by time and talk time up to 12 hours. Further, Nokia has made use of Symbian Series 40 Operating System in its latest handset, just like other mobile phones. The phone comes with GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth connectivity options but has missed out with wireless and USB.
Nokia Asha 205 Features
Just like other Asha series handsets, 205 does comes with pre-loaded apps and games. It has also been included with eBuddy, Twitter and Nokia Nearby apps. Further, the handset includes FM Radio and music player. Asha 205 offers amazing sound quality. Camera lacks the quality and does not deliver anything that we would write about.
The display quality looks quite good, while the keypad is the USP of the phone. Though the keypad felt bit plasticky, still for the price 205 comes with, it is worth.
- SNS integration
- Organizer, Voice Memo and Predictive text input included
- Supports HTML, Adobe Flash Lite and WAP 2.0/xHTM
- Read SMS in threaded view
Considering the price, Asha 205 proves to be a good deal for the tight fisted consumers, though it won’t give freedom that you get in smart phones for accessing Facebook, still worth the investment.
