It looks like IEMs (In ear monitors) have become quite popular among the audiophiles these days. The latest to make news in the market is Signature Acoustics Elements C12 IEM. I have spent the last few days drooling over this masterpiece, and surprisingly, Signature Acoustics C12 met all my expectations with its high quality bass.
As the name suggests, C12 has been crafted for discerning music enthusiast with a good taste of royalty and classiness. Priced at INR 2800, Signature Acoustics C12 is one of the best IEMs available in the market. Though its high pace might keep most of the consumers away, but for those with augustness for music are sure to invest extra bucks for this awesome wooden IEM. Let us find out, if this costly lavishness for music is worth the price?
Love at First Sight
Just one look at the C12, you are sure to fall in love with it. What made me more elated was its packaging. It comes in a beautiful case made using premium grade brass metal, though the case feel like more helpful in protecting the user from bullet rather than keeping IEM; so solidly it is built. And the weight of the case might prevent you from carrying it in your pocket.
Talking about the IEM, it has been perfectly sculpted with premium timber. Light in weight and small in size, the earpiece can be kept without any hassles in the case. Both the case and earpiece came well-packed with sponge coating; making it easy for the IEM and case to be kept without any damage.
C12 comes with three sets of rubber tips (small, medium, large to suit different size of varied people) and also included with a shirt clip & an alternate pair of filters within the metal case. The tips are quite comfortable, wearing the IEM for long will not cause any sort of strain on the ears. Further, the use of wooden housing offers natural warm sound and is perfectly matched to have impressive acoustic. For this price, the accessories C12 comes with, makes it quite VFM.
After months of R&D, Signature Acoustics came with its in-house range of IEMs; amongst them C12 IEM is comes as a good surprise for the audiophiles. Available in antique design with wooden casing, this earphone has been inspired from nature, ensuring soothing music experience to the user. Pristine mids, tights bass and detailed highs are some of the traits of C12 IEM.
The use of soft ear-tips and filters helps in enhancing sound quality, offering complacent listening pleasure. With its 17 to 20 Khz frequency and 102 dB sensitivity, Signature Acoustics C12 IEM is capable of delivering 2.5% dB @ 1Khz channel balance.
Further, the use of 8mm (CCAW) micro-driver along with concentric bass relief port ensures to produce tight and punchy bass without any distortion and can be felt extending deep in to the ear, without causing strain to the ear canals. Mids on the other hand sounds nice as well lags sometimes, depending on the type of tracks you are listening to. Well, it looks like Treble is bit confusing to judge. It is a mixed bag; treble feels quite lacked behind & soft in portable devices but sounds best when connected to PC or laptop.
